It has been a real long time since I have written anything in this space. I had been really busy with life. With a recent addition to the family, I have been busying with feeding, diapering, pumping, and carrying the baby. This is on top of the demands of my other two kids, cooking and maintaining the home to liveable standards (i.e. not too untidy and dirty). So guys, if you think maternity leave is just rest and relax, you can consider doing an internship at my home (I'm kidding, really).
My eldest will be entering primary one soon. I was looking through the primary school textbooks and worksheets when I realized she is way behind. While I can hope for the full day childcare to work miracles on her till she enter primary one, it'll be better if I do more than hope.
I have been trying to teach my daughter. Maybe just 10 - 15 minutes per day while Lovely 2 and the baby are asleep at the same time (key is AT THE SAME TIME, not too often). I'm not sure if this 10 - 15 minutes will be sufficient. So the next thing I do will be enrichment classes. Have been starting her on more enrichment classes that are useful for primary school syllabus. Hope this helps. While she is attending enrichment classes, I can spend time with Lovely 2 playing with him and teaching him as well (if the baby is asleep). Honestly, till date, I am questioning whether this outsourcing is worth it. Let's see.
Another aspect that I tried to outsource was cleaning of home. Since having a domestic helper was out, I had someone clean my home on a regular basis. I was rather skeptical at first, but after the first session, I found it was a savior. Professional cleaners do the job so much better than me, and with her cleaning regularly, my robotic vacuum cleaner could do the job at other times. Only problem, with Chinese New Year coming, she is going home for a month. Well, I guess I can manage for a month, or get temporary help.
While I outsourced the above 2 items, I still want more time. I cannot imagine what will happen to myself, if I don't spend time on myself. Will I regress?
I am still looking at how to optimize my life so that I can accomplish more. For now, I am trying to wake up earlier and stay awake longer to create more time, but there's a limit to how much sleep I can cut back on. I am trying to do a system study now, and hopefully come up with ways to optimize my life.
If you have suggestions, I really appreciate you sharing with me.
Cheers!
